Both the Volvo XC40 and the Volvo XC60
are premium luxury SUVs with tons of standard features. However, St. Louis
drivers will enjoy some standard amenities in the XC60 that are only optional
in the XC40. The XC60 comes standard with a panoramic sunroof, which is just an
available feature in the XC40. It also comes with an under-floor storage area where
you can keep valuables stowed out of sight. The XC40 has no under-floor storage
area, but it does offer an optional adjustable cargo floor.
Safety
Volvo vehicles have some of the most
robust safety technology on the market, and the XC40 and XC60 are no
exceptions. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the new XC40 the
highest rating of Good in all six crash tests. It also received a Good rating
for how well the headlights illuminate the road ahead. The Volvo XC60 earned Top
Safety Pick+ honors. It achieved Good ratings in all six crash safety tests,
while its headlights received the second-highest rating of Acceptable for
forward visibility. Both SUVs are loaded with standard advanced active safety
features that protect St. Louis drivers, including forward collision warning,
automatic emergency braking, oncoming collision mitigation, lane keep assist,
and blind spot monitoring.
