Volvo SUVs offer potent engine options, engaging driving dynamics, and a generous assortment of features across the trim levels. And for the 2021 model year, the automaker brings even more premium features to the base trims. Here's a quick look at a few of the most notable changes for Volvo's SUV lineup in 2021.

2021 Volvo XC40

Volvo's smallest SUV, the XC40, adds a third powertrain option for the 2021 model year, joining the current T4 (187 horsepower, 221 pound-feet of torque) and T5 (248 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque) offerings. While Volvo is no stranger to hybrid vehicles, the XC40 Recharge P8 AWD will be the automaker's first all-electric vehicle. A 78-kW-hr battery pack powers a motor on each axle, for a total system output of 408 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. Volvo estimates the XC40 Recharge will travel just over 200 miles on a single charge

All 2021 XC40's will feature standard leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, and cornering fog lights.

2021 Volvo XC60

The 2021 Volvo XC60 moves many of its previously optional features to the base Momentum trim level. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and steering adaptive headlights have been added to the XC60's list of standard safety features. Additionally, LED fog lights and power-folding auto-dimming mirrors are also standard.

2021 Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 already included a complete array of advanced driver-assistance technologies as standard equipment, including semi-autonomous driving and adaptive cruise control. However, even Volvo's flagship model found room for improving the base trim. Beginning in 2021, the XC90 will come standard with new 19-inch alloy wheels, front park assist, and wireless smartphone charging.
